Noble, Dripps, Jones, Cordes early leaders in USMTS points chases



<p>(May 9, 1999) - Mark Noble from Blooming Prairie, MN, with his win at the Hamilton County Speedway, has taken the lead in the point standings for the year end standings. The series will be based on the drivers best 25 finishes for the season. Any driver that races more than 25 races will start knocking off bad finishes after competing in 25. The USMTS Rookie of the Year is based on all the races on the schedule as is the Olympic Fire Protection Hard Charger and the Home Pride Companies Most Passing Points Awards. Only the A-main will award points for the year end standings. On a two-day show, the A-main qualifier has no points. All passing points will come from the first day only on a two-day show as there will be six cars qualified for the A-main after the first day. The Hard Charger and Rookie awards will come from the second day A-main only. Any questions on these procedures, call Todd Staley at (515) 832-6321. Corey Dripps of Cedar Falls, IA has jumped out to the early lead in the USMTS Rookie of the Year standings with his eighth place finish at Webster City, IA. These points are based on all rookies in the field. To be eligible for this award the driver must have a USMTS license. Ron Jones Zimmerman, MN has jumped out to the early lead in the Home Pride Companies Most Passing Points Award. This award is based on passing points from all heat races on a one day show and the first day heat races on a two day show. The driver must have a license to be eligible for this award also. Troy Cordes Cedar Falls, IA has jumped out to the early lead in the Olympic Fire Protection Hard Charger Award. This award is based on starting position in A-main. For each car passed the driver is awarded 5 pts . Driver must have USMTS license to be eligible for this award.</p>
