VIVIAN, La.—After losing 18 shows to wet weather prior to the month of July, it seems only fitting that Mother Nature has won the final event of the 2015 United States Modified Touring Series campaign.

Heavy rain throughout the week had already deluged the Shreveport, La., region and an early evening shower forced the cancellation of opening night at the 9th Annual USMTS Winter Nationals on Thursday.

With more rain falling on the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval at Ark-La-Tex Speedway during the night, track and USMTS officials were forced to pull the plug on the remainder of the weekend festivities.

Drivers needing to return transponders and others requiring refunds for pit passes can send them to USMTS headquarters at P.O. Box 905, Webster City, IA 50595. Alternatively, arm bands from the event may be used when the series returns to the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in February 2016.

Following trade show season between now and the end of the calendar year, the USMTS awards banquet will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo.

In addition to drivers, crew members, track officials and sponsors, fans are invited to take part in the festivities as well.

The ceremony will once again be a joint effort for both the USMTS and United States Racing Association (USRA).
