Format adjusted for Chisholm Trail Showdown

Format adjusted for Chisholm Trail Showdown

PARK CITY, Kan.—Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series and 81 Speedway have announced some changes to this weekend’s inaugural Chisholm Trail Showdown at the Park City, Kan., facility.

Originally slated for this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the event will now be a two-day show on Friday and Saturday with a $5,000 top payout for Modifieds and reduced pit pass and grandstand prices.

With all the great events that took place in September and October, we set this deal up a little more than a month ago to give racers and fans one last big show before another long winter kicks in,” said USMTS president Todd Staley. “A solid list of pre-entries has already come in, but we were hearing from just as many drivers that previously planned vacation time, travel plans and so forth made it impossible to attend, so we have made a few changes to hopefully make it a big show that more drivers and fans can be a part of.”

The co-sanctioned event for NCRA and USMTS Modifieds will see drivers battle in two heat races Friday with the winner of each heat pocketing $100. Points will be added together with the top 12 advancing to Saturday’s $5,000-to-win main event.

B-Mods will run a complete show of heat races and main events both nights. Friday’s winner will earn $600 and Saturday’s feature race will pay $1,000 to win.

Entry fees cover both nights and have been reduced to $100 for Modifieds and B-Mods remain at $50. Grandstands ticket and pit pass prices have also been reduced.

Spectator tickets on Friday are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $5 for kids ages 6-10. On Saturday, adult tickets are $20, seniors are $15 and kids get in for $5. Children 5 and under get in for free both days. Pit passes will be $35 each night.

Gates open at 3 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. each day.

Thursday will be a practice night from 6-9 p.m. with free admission to the grandstands and $20 pit passes.

Modified drivers who have pre-entered will get $50 of their early entry fee returned, or a full refund will be offered for drivers unable to attend.
