Summit Racing Equipment inks multi-year deal, steps up big for USMTS racers

Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) announced today that Summit Racing Equipment has entered into a multi-year partnership with the nation’s most competitive and exciting open-wheel dirt modified series in America.

As part of their commitment to USMTS competitors, Summit Racing Equipment will be the Official High Performance Source of the USMTS, title sponsor of the USMTS Southern Region, presenting sponsor of the USMTS Central and Northern Regions, and presenting sponsor of the annual King of America Modified Nationals through the 2019 season.

“Summit Racing Equipment is one of the largest and most respected automotive and high-performance equipment companies in the world,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “There couldn’t be a better partner for our drivers to have in their corner, and their involvement will enhance the excitement of USMTS shows for our fans too.

“This partnership was developed over a couple of years with a lot of help and support from Summit Racing. I know our racers are going to love the products, prices and unequaled customer service that Summit Racing will provide.”

This year, the champion of the 21-race Summit Racing USMTS Southern Region will earn $10,000. A three-day event to kick off the 2017 campaign begins this Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas.

In addition to making a significant contribution to points funds for USMTS competitors, Summit Racing will also dole out more than $10,000 in product certificates during the course of the season and to top finishers in regional and national points battles.

Other good news for USMTS racers—Summit Racing is currently building a new Distribution Center and 32,000 square foot Retail Super Store in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The new facility means Summit Racing customers in most of Texas and adjacent states will enjoy one-day delivery on orders for in-stock parts. The company plans to ship orders from the new Distribution Center starting in mid-2017. The Retail Super Store will open shortly afterward.

“The great racers and facilities involved with the USMTS are an expansion of Summit Racing’s support of dirt modified racing,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing’s Motorsports and Events Manager. “We’re proud to have partnered with the USMTS and look forward to being involved with this exciting series for years to come.”
