Saturday night's 8th Annual USMTS River City Rumble presented by B&B Salvage at the Park Jefferson Speedway has been canceled due to rain.

The weekend is not over yet, and we hope to see everybody at the Casino Speedway in Watertown, S.D., on Sunday to celebrate the life of the track’s “Chairman of the Board” at the 2nd Annual Sandy Benson Memorial presented by Riddle’s Jewelry and Jurgens Printing.

A pivotal clash in the USMTS Hunt for the Casey’s Cup powered by S&S Fishing & Rental, the nation’s hottest drivers on dirt will be battling for a $4,000 top prize which could be worth up to $6,000 with the Rancho Milagro Bonus Bucks.

On top of that, Midwest Mods will grapple for a $2,000 top prize and Street Stocks are looking at $1,500 to win their main event.

Fans were excited to see Jon Tesch on Friday night at the Rapid Speedway—his first USMTS start since last year’s Sandy Benson Memorial. He’ll be shooting for his third victory in the eighth year of the USMTS summertime classic at his hometown track.

Zack VanderBeek is also a two-time winner in Watertown, and the defending champ of the Sandy Benson Memorial. Tommy Myer took down the win in the first visit here by the USMTS in 2005 with Watertown’s Scott Ward getting his first and only USMTS victory here in 2007. Al Hejna and Kelly Shryock picked up wins here in 2009 and 2011, respectively.

The pts open at 3 p.m., draw cutoff is 6:30 and the green flag waves at 7 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, kids ages 8-13 are $5 and children 7 and under get in for free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $35.

Curt Myers of Cameron, Wis., driver of the No. 1M Snickers USMTS Modified, will be at the Casey’s General Store located at 405 10th St. SW in Watertown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fans can get a special $5 ‘Hot Ticket’ directly from Myers during his appearance.

Quality Inn & Suites is the motel of choice for the Casino Speedway. The motel is located at mile marker 177 on I-29. Turn left on Hwy. 212 and proceed one block west. There is parking for big rigs too. The code to be used for the racer rate is USMTS.
