Eleven main events have been contested by USMTS drivers at the 81 Speedway. Jason Hughes won the first in 2008 and returned to the winner’s circle in the most recent visit two months ago during the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s National Championship en route to his fourth season-long title.

Jeremy Payne won in 2013 and again in 2015, and Rodney Sanders picked up a win in both the 2014 and 2015 campaigns. A series-best third win by Sanders was erased in last year’s Chisholm Trail Showdown finale when his machine was underweight at the scales and the win was handed to Ryan Gustin—his second straight at C. Ray Hall’s 4/10-mile speedplant.

Stormy Scott picked up a win during the 2014 season and Cade Dillard won here in 2016. This past June, Jon Mitchell recorded his career-first USMTS victory at the 81 Speedway during action in the MSD Ignition Central Region.

The 81 Speedway is located north of Wichita on I-135 to exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th St. For more information call (316) 755-1781 or visit www.race81speedway.com online. To obtain official NCRA Modified rules go to their official website at www.racencra.com.
