With a few hours of practice laps in the books Thursday night, the dirt-slinging demons of the United States Modified Touring Series and National Championship Racing Association are ready to rock the 81 Speedway on Friday and Saturday.

The 2nd Annual Park City Chisholm Trail Showdown presented by Kansas High Performance Racing Auction will take the green flag Friday for the first of two huge nights of high-energy action on the 4/10-mile dirt oval located just outside of Wichita in beautiful Park City, Kan.

Featuring Modifieds and B-Mods, both nights will provide a complete show of qualifying heats, last-chance races and features for race fans and more than $40,000 in prize money earmarked for competitors.

Gates will open both days at 5 p.m. with racing action slated for 7 p.m.

Spectator general admission is $20 each night or fans may purchase a two-day ticket for $35. Kids ages 6 to 11 are $5 each night. Children ages 5 and under are admitted into the grandstands for free both days. Pit passes are $35 each night.

Saturday will be the final event of the 2017 season for both the USMTS and NCRA as well as the 81 Speedway.

Eleven main events have been contested by the USMTS at the 81 Speedway. Jason Hughes won the first in 2008 and returned to the winner’s circle during the most recent visit two months ago during the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s National Championship en route to his fourth national title.

Other former winners here include Jeremy Payne, Rodney Sanders, Ryan Gustin, Stormy Scott, Cade Dillard and Jon Mitchell.
