Fourth Annual Featherlite/USMTS Fall Jamboree up next for North Region at Deer Creek Speedway

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 5, 2002) - The United States Modified Touring Series north region will finish up September 19-21 at the Deer Creek Speedway. This will be the first time ever for the Jamboree in the Minnesota area after being held annually at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, IA the first three years. Three different drivers have won the Jamboree. In 1999 Ron Jones from Zimmerman, MN picked up the $10000 feature win. In 2000 Johnny the jet Saathoff from Beatrice, NE picked up the win, while last season Willy Kraft Lakefield, MN took the top spot. The racing program has changed from the past, as each night will be a complete show. On Wednesday night the track will open at 6pm for a practice night. This will be the only night for hot laps. On Thursday racing will kick off at 6:30 pm and on the bill will be the Hobby Stocks/Pure Stocks racing for $500 to win. Also running will be the Wissota Street Stocks racing for $500 to win. Thursday will be the only night that these two classes will run. Also running will be the USMTS modifieds racing for a normal $2000 to win purse. On Thursday after the races USMTS and Deer Creek Speedway have brought in a Karaoke machine and fans and drivers will be entertained under the tent. Friday will kick off with a golf tournament-taking place at 9:30 am in Spring Valley. This will be a four-person best shot golf outing. The number of golfers is limited to call and get a spot to golf. Cost is $25, which will cover green fees, cart, and a lunch. This should be a very good time. There will be activities going on all day at the campground as Deer Creek has brought in some vendors and one will have a dunk tank that will have your favorite driver getting dunked.

The racing on Friday night will get underway at 6:30 pm with the Wissota Midwest Mods racing for $600 to win the main event. The Wissota Super Stocks will also be on hand for $1000 to win. The USMTS modifieds will also be running and will pay $4000 to the winner of the main event. After the races on Friday karaoke will be under the tent along with a roast courtesy of USMTS and Deer Creek. Beverages will be served until gone on Friday night.

Vendors will be set up on Saturday all day and fans will be able to tour some of the Featherlite Trailers and Buses that will be on hand all week. Saturday night the racing action will get underway at 6pm. The Wissota Midwest Mods will race for $1000 to win and the Wissota Super Stocks will race for $1500 to the winner. The final race of the night will be the Featherlite/USMTS Main Event that will see thirty-cars three-wide for the start of the event. The Main Event will pay $6000 to the winner. It will be possible for any driver to win more than $12000 for the three-days. Tickets are on sale and can be bought at the Deer Creek office or the USMTS office. Tickets are $45 for a three-day reserved seat or $35 for Friday and Saturday or $20 for Saturday only. All three-day passes will be put into a drawing for tickets to Daytona Speedweeks with garage passes, tickets to the Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers in November, and a season pass to the Deer Creek Speedway.
