First trip to LaSalle nets first win of 2008 for Hejna

The O’Reilly USMTS National Tour invaded the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Ill., for the first time Saturday, for the inaugural Frostbuster. Originally slated for April 12, the rain-delayed event saw Al Hejna of Clear Lake, Iowa, lead all 35 laps of the main event, which was stopped short of the scheduled 40-lap distance when rain began to fall on the speedway after 35 orbits. …

Tony Ave Racing tests Mondus for ARCA program

Tony Ave Racing broke out their new short track cars at Hickory Motor Speedway in recent weeks, with both team owner Tony Ave and Minnesota dirt modified standout Alan Mondus running laps at the historic short track. The team ran current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Andy Lally in a three-race program in 2007, and looks to continue their driver development program with Mondus. …
