Meanwhile, proposed regulations in California ban the sale of new vehicles with internal combustion engines by 2035 while favoring Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs). Plus, the EPA's proposed federal emission standards feature a tight timeline and subsidies that essentially make production and purchase of BEVs the only option. Other technology will be stunted and BEVs will be our only choice whether we're ready or not. The Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act and CARS Act prevent these regulations in favor of developing low-emissions technology consumers want…not what we're forced to buy.
