Technical Inspection Procedures: King of America Modified Nationals


Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series and Humboldt Speedway have announced the technical inspection procedures that will be implemented during the inaugural running of the King of America Modified Nationals.

TIME TRIALS: Every driver must cross the scale after time trials. Any driver who does not cross the scales or pass inspection will get no time and start last in his/her heat race. The fastest qualifier in each group will remove the right rear tire at the designated technical inspection area immediately after their timing session and after weighing. Each tire will be broken down and checked for illegal substances, and then returned to the driver if no infractions are discovered. A sample will be extracted from the right rear tire from each of the five top overall qualifers in time trials, with the samples being submitted for laboratory testing.

PRELIMINARY QUALIFIERS: The right rear tire will be confiscatd from the top 6 points earners each night on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (these are the top 18 advancing to the first six rows of Saturday's championship "A" Main. These tires will be marked, cataloged and tested for illegal substances.

CHAMPIONSHIP FINISHERS: The right rear and right front tires will be confiscated from the top 5 finishers in Saturday's championship "A" Main. These tires will be marked, cataloged and tested for illegal substances. Furthermore, if any of these top 5 finishers are utilizing the USMTS Brodix Spec Head, those heads will be confisctated and submited for inspection.

Any driver found to be using illeal substances on tires or altered spec heads will be disqualified, receive no prize money or contingency awards and will be handed severe penalties including, but not limited to monetary fines and indefinite suspension from future USMTS events.
