Five drivers cash in on USMTS Casey's Cup Bonus Program
Thanks to overwhelming support from some great sponsors, the USMTS added a bonus program like no other for drivers racing in the USMTS Casey's Cup Series qualifying races.
Beginning at the I-35 Speedway in Mason City, Iowa, on Wednesday, May 23, officials began adding $1,000 from each remaining USMTS Casey's Cup Series race into a pool of money to be split equally among the drivers attending all remaining USMTS Casey's Cup Series races prior to the start of the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup.
Competitors even got one excused absence, so one of the remaining shows could be missed.
When this "near perfect" attendance bonus program went into effect there were 17 races remaining. Four were rained-out, so the amount reached $13,000 at the conclusion of the event on Saturday at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.
Five drivers cashed in for the program and earned $2,600 apiece: Daniel Hilsabeck, Bryan Rowland, Rodney Sanders, Stormy Scott and Mike Steensma.
All of this is on top of an already huge points fund where this year's Hunt for USMTS Casey's Cup will pay $15,000 to win the points champion. Congratulations and thank you to all of the drivers.
