
Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup roars into Lucas Oil Speedway Saturday night
WHEATLAND, Mo. -- The United States Modified Touring Series makes a swing through the Show-Me State this week, and Saturday night the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup will storm into the Lucas Oil Speedway for the 3rd Annual Lucas Slick Mist Shoot-Out.
The Carson's Corner Napa Factory Stocks and the DJ's RV B-Modfieds will also be in action at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Meet USMTS driver Jason Cummins on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. at the Casey's General Store location in Wheatland. Sign up for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Saturday night's race, check out Jason's Cheetos car and get his autograph.
Competitors will be out to finish well in the early 'Hunt' races to keep them on top during the stretch before the finale at Deer Creek Speedway's 14th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree, Sept. 20-22.
Marshalltown, Iowa's Ryan Gustin drove his familiar blue and white #19 to the 2011 USMTS National Championship despite pressure from standout Modified drivers such as Jason Hughes, Stormy and Johnny Scott, Rodney Sanders, Zack VanderBeek, Kelly Shryock, Jon Tesch, Dereck Ramirez and more. Currently, Gustin is on top of the USMTS National Championship Series points standings and third in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey's Cup.
Lucas Oil Speedway will grant two track provisional starting spots on Saturday night for the USMTS feature event. Provisional spots will be awarded to the two drivers not making the main event who are highest in current Lucas Oil Speedway Pitts Homes USRA Modified points.
Coupons worth $2 off general admission for Saturday's event will be available at the Casey's General Store in Wheatland beginning Thursday.
