USMTS moves LA Raceway show to May 17; I-35 Speedway event now becomes part of ‘The Hunt’

USMTS moves LA Raceway show to May 17; I-35 Speedway event now becomes part of ‘The Hunt’

WINSTON, Mo. -- The King of America III Modified Nationals slated for this weekend has been postponed one week to Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 28-30.

USMTS officials also had to shuffle a couple of other dates in order to accommodate what would have been two USMTS Casey’s Cup Series events next weekend.

The 7th Annual Schwab’s Tinker Shop Show-Me Shootout scheduled for Friday, March 29, at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo., has been moved to Friday, May 17, and ties in nicely with Saturday’s show at the West Plains Motor Speedway.

The 5th Annual Arbor Masters Missouri Meltdown slated for Saturday, March 30, at the I-35 Speedway in Winston, Mo., will now take place on Thursday, Aug. 8, and serve as the fourth race in the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup.

“You hate to postpone a show based on the forecast, but this weekend looks so miserable that nobody would have enjoyed being outdoors – and this event is first and foremost about having a good time,” said USMTS President Todd Staley. “We can’t thank Mike White from LA Raceway and Mike Johnson from I-35 Speedway enough for adjusting their schedules to accommodate the King of America. I hope fans will help us show they appreciate it by showing up at these two events later on and buying a whole lot of hot dogs and drinks.”

The LA Raceway is a located 3.5 miles west of SR 127 on Hwy Y. For more information, call 660-620-1152 or 660-563-9878 or check out www.laraceway.com online.

The I-35 Speedway is a 3/8-mile semi-banked dirt oval located 10 miles north of Cameron on SR 6 (exit 64). For more information, call the track at 660-749-5317 or visit www.i-35speedway.net online.
