COMP Cams expands awards program for USMTS drivers, named Official Cam of the USMTS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- COMP Cams® is famous for delivering horsepower, reliability and gas mileage to customers worldwide, and in 2013 the Memphis-Tenn.-based company will deliver awards and accolades to United States Modified Touring Series competitors like never before.

A mainstay as sponsor of the USMTS Engine Builder of the Year Award, COMP Cams® will be the Official Cam of the USMTS for 2013 and has increased their awards program as well as their contribution to the regional and national points funds as sponsor of the USMTS “Bonus Bucks” program for drivers with shining attendance report cards.

“COMP Cams® and the USMTS are both committed to superior quality, and we are both committed to the long-term success of America’s machine shops, enthusiasts and home-grown engine builders that are truly the engine of auto racing,” said Todd Staley, President of the USMTS. “We are proud to continue our partnership with COMP Cams® and are honored by their dedication to the sport and investment in our drivers.”

As part of their contingency award program for the 2013 campaign, COMP Cams® will provide USMTS competitors and engine builders with year-end product awards worth nearly $4,000 plus $500 cash to the 2013 COMP Cams® Engine Builder of the Year.

COMP Cams® will also provide a beautiful trophy to the COMP Cams® Engine Builder of the Year at the season-ending awards banquet.

The COMP Cams® Engine Builder of the Year Award was launched at the start of the 2008 season to recognize the masters of the horsepower-making craft whose dedication, hard work and unparalleled expertise propel the mud-slinging USMTS Modifieds around America's finest dirt ovals.

Mullins Race Engines emerged as the COMP Cams Engine Builder of the Year for the third straight year in 2012. In all, 122 different engine builders from across the fruited plain scored points in the COMP Cams® Engine Builder of the Year competition.

For more than 35 years, the COMP Cams® mission has never changed: to produce the highest-performing products possible, provide customers with superior service and to lead the industry in technological development. While the COMP Performance Group™ has grown to multiple companies and hundreds of employees, they still retain the competitive spirit and desire to be the very best that has positioned COMP Cams® as the absolute leader in valve train components.

Choosing a camshaft and valve train products isn’t like buying an oil filter. Everything in your valve train is part of a complex interlocking system that needs to perform well as a combination. That’s why COMP Cams® provides expert free-of-charge technical assistance to their customers. Their staff of expert technical advisors, backed by a vast inventory of precision-manufactured valve train components, will help you to make sure that you have the right parts for your application.
