Krohn partners with Karsyn’s Krusaders for “Hope & Healing” project
SLAYTON, Minn. -- Proof that the racing community truly is a family, two recognizable names in dirt racing have partnered for a special purpose.
After losing his nine-year-old daughter, Natalie, in a tragic accident last year, Jason Krohn approached Karsyn's Krusaders with the idea of supporting the organization and raising funds as a random act of kindness in her memory.
In an effort to help others who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child, the 2007 USMTS national champion and Karsyn's Krusaders have combined efforts for a special kindness project and act of giving. Together, the Krohn family and Karsyn's Krusaders have chosen Faith's Lodge located in Danbury, Wis., as its “Hope & Healing” project.
The Lodge—a two-hour drive from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, less than one hour from Duluth/Superior and about four hours from Madison—consists of an immaculate 12,000-square-foot facility that is situated on 80 acres of beautiful countryside.
Faith's Lodge provides family programming for all guests. Optional activities include professionally-led discussion groups, arts and crafts, north woods adventures, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, bonfires, cookouts, scavenger hunts and much more. Faith's Lodge provides all programming at no cost to guests.
The annual programmatic cost to the organization is over $400,000.
As the only facility of its kind in the country, parents and children have traveled from as far away as Washington, California, New York, Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois in order to benefit from programs and services provided. Faith's Lodge provides a place where parents and families facing the serious illness or loss of a child can retreat to reflect on the past, renew strength for the present and build hope for the future.
Decals ($10) and T-shirts ($20) are being sold at a track near you to help raise funds.
