Tickets on sale now for inaugural ‘Sunflower Showdown’ Oct. 2-5 at Lakeside Speedway


KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Sunflower Showdown set for Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 2-5, at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.

The crown jewel event will feature co-sanctioned USRA and USMTS Modifieds all four nights, culminating with a $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday night. Factory Stocks, Grand Nationals and USRA B-Mods will race on Wednesday and Thursday. The Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models join the party on Friday and Saturday with a $5,000 top prize at stake Saturday night.

The top six finishers in the Modified feature each of the first three preliminary nights will be locked into Saturday’s main event. Last-Chance Races, along with a C-Main and B-Main on Saturday will complete the starting line-up for the $10,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start A-Main.

On Wednesday, the top 12 drivers in Factory Stocks, Grand Nationals and USRA B-Mods will be locked into Thursday’s A-Main with the remainder of the Thursday night starting grids filled by B-Main transfers.

The Late Models will have a complete program both nights with a $3,000 top prize on Friday and $5,000 on Saturday. Late Models will also have practice on Thursday night.

The top 10 rows in each of the six main grandstand sections earmarked for reserved seating, with the lower five rows and two upper high-rise bleachers available for general admission. Reserved seats (all ages) are $25 the first three nights and $30 on Saturday.

General admission tickets Wednesday-Friday are $20 for adults (17 and older), $10 for juniors (ages 13-16) and $5 for kids (ages 6-12). On Saturday, adults are $25, juniors are $15 and kids are $10. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free in general admission seating each night.

A limited number of suite tickets are also available for $30 Wednesday-Friday and $40 Saturday.
