WEBSTER CITY, Iowa—Two days after announcing the 2014 schedule, USMTS officials have added three more dates to the campaign, bringing the total number of race nights to 77.

On Friday, March 21, the Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, will host a USMTS Casey’s cup Series events for the first time ever.

Although the 3/8-mile semi-banked red clay oval located 20 miles west of Texarkana will be virgin territory for the United States Modified Touring Series, some familiar faces on the USMTS campaign trail have experience at the two-year-old track.

“I’m really looking forward to the USMTS coming to our hometown track and the opportunity to defend our home turf against the best in the business,” said Texarkana’s Dustin ‘Tater’ Hyde—a regular competitor in the Modified division at Timberline and frequent USMTS flyer. “Billy and Kim White (owners) and Chris Green (promoter) have done great things to give this community a great track. It’s going to be great to meet up with my old USMTS friends and compete 15 minutes from the house.”

Saturday, March 22, will wrap up the weekend and find the tireless USMTS touring titans at Gene Boyter’s popular Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, La., where fans witnessed a thriller this past March and a first-time winner in Chris Henigan.

When the initial tentative schedule was announced Monday, some may have noticed a gap between the Thursday, May 15, event at the Lawton (Okla.) Speedway and the Saturday, May 17, show at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Okla.

The Friday, May 16, opening is now filled with another christening as the USMTS make its debut at the Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas.

After spending the entire year transforming a former asphalt track to a beautiful 1/4-mile dirt track, officials at the Red River Speedway are eager to show off the property to racers and fans.

The Red River Speedway is set to open up for racing in 2014, and is located 3.5 miles west of Wichita Falls on US 287, then 1.0 mile north on FM 369.
