Jackson to compete in select USMTS events in 2014
INDIANAPOLIS -- On the heels on an extremely busy PRI Trade Show last week in Indianapolis, dirt late model ace Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., has declared his intentions to run the full National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) schedule along with several USMTS events in 2014.
"Coming off of a season like we had, I really think this is a good opportunity to capitalize and further our program," said Jackson, who became the first driver to win both the Lucas Oil MLRA and MARS DIRTcar Series championships in the same season in 2013.
The approach is also two-fold for Jackson, as he will need time away from the track to promote his newest endeavor as part of TJR Motorsports. He recently put together a deal with Larry Shaw to deal his race cars out of his shop. Jackson will also drive the Shaw house car in select high-profile USMTS Modified events, beginning with the King of America IV at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., March 27-29.
He is also in the process of designing a new stock car for a select few customers.
"I really have a lot on my plate, but I'm looking forward to getting started in January," added Jackson who expressed his thanks to Eibach Springs for placing his new dirt late model in their booth at the PRI show. "It was so cool to have my car there. Darrell and Ronnie did a great job building it, and to be able to showcase it and have Eibach's support was awesome."
