CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas—With the green flag about to wave to kick off the 2014 campaign, the schedule for the 16th season of the United States Modified Touring Series is shaping up to be the biggest and best so far.

USMTS officials announced two weeks ago that any driver that can win all four regions and cap that off by winning the 2014 USMTS National Championship will earn a $60,000 bonus for an astounding $100,000 payday.

The season kicks Saturday and Sunday at the South Texas Speedway in Corpus Christi for the 2nd Annual Sparkling City Nationals for the first of ten events in the MVT Gulf Coast Border Region presented by Day Motor Sports and the first of 54 events comprising the USMTS Casey’s Cup powered by Swan Energy.

The series continues the February swing of racing at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas (Feb. 13-15), El Paso (Texas) Speedway Park (Feb. 21-22) and Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces (Feb. 27-March 1)

Several events have been moved, added or removed since the USMTS first released the preliminary 2014 schedule in December:

• Added an event in the Farm Boy BBQ Sauce Northern Region presented by Day Motor Sports at the Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, Wis., on Sunday, June 15.
• Added two events at the Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, in the S & S Fishing and Rental Southern Region presented by Day Motor Sports. The first show is Friday, March 21, and the second will be held on Friday, June 27.
• Added an event at Heartland Park Topeka (Kan.) on Friday, March 14, for the first race in the Major League Bowhunter Central Region presented by Day Motor Sports.
• Added two events at the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, Iowa. The first will be held on Thursday, April 24, for a Major League Bowhunter Central Region event and the second race will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, during the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s National Championship powered by Swan Energy.
• Added an event at the I-90 Speedway in Hartford, S.D., on Saturday, June 7. This will be a Farm Boy BBQ Sauce Northern Region points race and the first-ever for the USMTS at the I-90 Speedway.
• Added an event on Friday, June 20, at the Elk City (Okla.) Speedway for an S & S Fishing and Rental Southern Region points race.
• Added an event at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott, Texas, on Tuesday, June 24. The show will be the first of five straight in the S & S Fishing and Rental Southern Region that week.
• Added an event at the Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 2, during the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s National Championship powered by Swan Energy. The event was originally slated to be held at the West Plains (Mo.) Motor Speedway which is not in operation for 2014.
• Added a ‘Hunt’ race at the Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wis., on Thursday, Aug. 14. This date was originally schedule for the Rice Lake Speedway.

A total of 90 race nights are on tap in 2014 including 54 regional points race, 19 races in ‘The Hunt’ and 17 race nights at non-points "crown jewel" events.

The Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s National Championship powered by Swan Energy will begin Friday, Aug. 1, at the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Ark., and concludes Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., for the first night of the 16th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree.
