LANSING, Minn.— Friday’s United States Modified Touring Series event at the Chateau Raceway in Lansing, Minn., has been canceled due to late-afternoon thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Racers and fans are hoping Mother Nature avoids the ‘hat trick’ as the series moves to the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., on Saturday for the 9th Annual Labor Day Dual.

A full night of racing is on tap with the Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA B-Mods in action, along with Wissota Midwest Mods, Super Stocks and Street Stocks.

Pits open at 2 p.m., grandstands open at 4, hot laps begin at 5:30 and the green flag waves at 6 p.m. Fans are invited to come out early and enjoy action on the Button Buck Speedway beginning at 3 p.m. Adult tickets for the event are $20 and kids ages 12 and under are $5. Pit passes are $30.

Race fans can pick up coupons good for $2 off adult admission at Casey’s General Stores locations in Rochester and Stewartville on race day. Kelly Shryock and his No. 3 Snickers Modified will be available for a meet ‘n’ greet from 11:30-1:30 at the Casey’s located at 605 Main St. in Stewartville.

The Deer Creek Speedway sits on 60 acres of scenic rural rolling hills with one of America’s most popular state-of-the-art racing complexes and a busy modern campground.
