USMTS Rules Announced for the 2015 Race Season

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- Rules for the 2015 United States Modified Touring Series are complete, officials from the United States Modified Touring Series announced today.

Once again we at USMTS understand that with change comes cost and we want to keep as few changes as possible. There was some grey areas that still need covered and drivers, crewmembers really need to read the rules to make sure you are within the rulebook. Drivers are always looking for that little extra edge and sometimes it may not be written in the rules so be sure to check out the 2015 rules.

The suspension area was updated as USMTS has went to pull bar or lift arm only. No cantilever bars will be allowed in 2015, another change will be the spoilers have been reduced to five inches for the USMTS Spec headed cars and three inches for the open competitor cars. Frames will be a concern and drivers and owners need to be checking with USRA/USMTS tech officials about what will be allowed in this area. We have heard lots of grumblings about this already and cheated up frames will not be tolerated. USMTS has also added in the concept engine that will get a 50# weight break. Another area that seen a minor change was the weight rule 50# of weight was added to each option.

Rules are on the USMTS website and available for download as is the 2015 USMTS license application and will be available at the trade show in Mesquite, TX this weekend.
