O’Reilly USMTS drivers sweep Spring Shoot-Out at Thunder Valley Speedway

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (May 7, 2005) -- This weekend 3 Full Nights of racing got off to a great start with the opening night on Thursday May 5th. Promoter’s Mike and Linda Baker have spread the word that there will be some great payouts and some awesome racing and let me tell you they did not let anyone down on those statements. Mason Memorial Foundation held the race. The Mason Memorial Foundation is a Non-profit organization that helps children all over the United States and Haiti. The Founder of the Organization is Debbie Pinalto out of Tonitown, AR who named the foundation after her deceased grandson Mason. This foundation raises hundreds of thousands dollars every year just for the children. What a great foundation!

To get the weekend off to a great start there were drivers from all over started arriving at the track early Thursday morning. Opening night the Modifieds were racing for $2000 to win. Opening night there were 51 Modifieds signed in to take the challenge for the $2000 to win. After Heat races which passing points would determine what 12 cars would be locked into the “A” Feature Main Event it was Jason Hughes out of Siloam Springs AR getting the highest passing points. Qualifying through “B” Features it would be the Top 3 cars getting the chance for the “A” Feature Main Event $2000 to win-“B” Feature #1 it’s #12C Wade Bates, #87 Tim Crawley and #00 Jesse Stovall; “B” Feature #2 it’s #33C Chad Smith, #44 David Grigg and #88 Kevin Guinn all local driver’s making the “A” Feature; “B” Feature #3 it’s #12D Scott Drake, #12W Paul White and #1 Ronnie Chism making the final lock-in’s for the “A” Feature. The provisionals which were determined by the local driver with points that did not make the “A” Feature were Jason Johnson #17 and Kenneth Cox #5K making the 23 field of cars for the “A” Feature. With the 3 cars for the Modified “A” Feature rolling out on the track the fans are all excited to see some of the best drivers around pacing the track. The 2nd night of this great event gets underway on Friday Night May 6th with some very awesome drivers and devoted race fans. There were 52 “A” Modified cars signed in for the 2nd night of the event. Tonight the “A” Modified “A” Feature is $2500 to win—will Shryock make it 2 nights in a row for the 2 out of 3 win $1000 bonus? Through heat qualifier’s and “B” Feature qualifiers the drivers put on a spectacular show for all the fans to see. Again, Jason Hughes #12H has the highest passing points for the 2nd night in a row. Making the “A” Feature through the “B” Feature qualifiers it’s: “B” Feature 1: #118 Terry Beckham II, #12W Paul White, and #12C Wade Bates; “B” Feature #2 it’s #106 Jared Landers (Mark Martin road home car—if you haven't seen this car it is just awesome), #1H Jerry Hoffman and #26X Brad McEwan; “B” Feature #3 it’s #75 Terry Phillips, #10X George White and #5 Steve Holzkamper. The track provisionals for tonight were #7 Rick Wallis and #88 Kevin Guinn. The “A” Feature pulls out on the track and as the drivers are pacing around fans are wondering will Kelly Shryock #3 make it 2 nights in a row and lock in the $1000 bonus win for the week-end or will there be a new winner. Thunder Valley Speedway flagman Jeff Rowlan looks the field over and shows the drivers that next time around it will be green flag racing. Taking the lead it’s #17X driven by Chris Moore, Tommy Myer #65 in 2nd, Kelly Shryock #3 in 3rd, #74X Mark Noble in 4th and Jason Hughes #12H in 5th.
