Two stops at Britt slated for 2006
BRITT, Iowa -- Officials from RL Promotions and the Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa, have announced a tentative schedule of events for the 2006 racing season at the 3/8-mile clay oval.
Friday night racing at the speedway will feature USRA-sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars, B-Mods and Hobby Stocks competing in the USRA Weekly Racing Series. Drivers in all four divisions will be competing for not only a track championship, but also the USRA national championship in all four classes. The season-opening event for the USRA Weekly Racing Series is slated for Friday, April 21.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts USMTS Modifieds will make two visits to the Hancock County Speedway in 2006. The first date is slated for Friday, April 7. Seven-time O'Reilly USMTS champion Kelly Shryock is expected to be among the stellar field of stars and cars as he looks to defend his crown against the likes of Tommy Myer, Brad McEwan, Al Hejna, Cory Dripps, Zack VanderBeek, Ryan Ruter, Jason Hughes, Mark Noble, Dean Mahlstedt and many more of America's modified top guns. America's premier modified series returns again on Monday, May 29, for another $2,000-to-win show.
Other special events dotting the '06 calendar include the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series on Friday, July 7. Three weeks later on Thursday, July 27, the annual Night of 1000 Stars is on tap, with the Modified "King of the Hill" on Friday, July 28. The $5,000-to-win USRA Stock Car Nationals will be held Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 9-11. B-Mods will also be part of the program with a $1,000 top prize in that class.
