Doren guests on Dirt Racers Radio
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- RaceRPM.com's Bucky Doren joins the crew of Dirt Racers Radio this Sunday, February 12. Doc Lehman and Ryan Pearson on WQKT 104.5 FM host Dirt Racers Radio on Sunday nights. Race fans not in the Wooster, Ohio, area can catch the show on-line at www.wqkt.com.
Doren and the rest of the RaceRPM.com crew are preparing for their annual trip to East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) to cover the Modified Winter Nationals, and the trio will talk about what race fans can expect during the four days of live play-by-play racing action beginning Wednesday, February 15 (7e/6c each night).
Lehman and Pearson will talk about the state of modified racing in the Midwest with Doren. The open-wheel modified class has been huge in the Midwest for years, and the Ohio area is starting to see the same growth.
"In our part of the racing world, Modifieds have become a strong headliner class," commented Doren. "When the mods first came on the scene, I don't think many gave the class a second look. They have come a long way in the last few years, and they are starting to be looked at as a top tier racing division.
"The class is starting to see its own stars rise too. "A handful of years ago, you couldn't name a superstar modified driver. That is not true anymore, and when we travel to East Bay, the pit area will be filled with a lot of those names that are starting to become well known."
Dirt Racers Radio airs on WQKT 104.5 FM and online at www.wqkt.com every Sunday night starting at 6:00 p.m. (eastern time), and it runs for two hours. Doren is expected to join the crew about 6:20 (eastern time).
