Hall’s last call set for May 28 at Upper Iowa Speedway
Bryce Hall, who succeeded veteran announcer Lon Oelke as the voice of the United States Modified Touring Series, announced recently that he will be stepping down at the USMTS and USRA to accept a management position at the Salina Highbanks Speedway.
Hall spent the last year and a half also serving as Director of Track Relations with the United States Racing Association.
“Bryce has been a huge asset to our organization, and we’re going to miss him greatly,” said Todd Staley, President of the USMTS and USRA. “Everybody likes Bryce. He's just a good person with a great work ethic. We wish him the best, but we sure will miss having him around.”
Previously, Hall was the track announcer at the Salina racetrack while attending college at nearby Rogers State University. Beginning in June, the 24-year-old Hall will be filling the position at the race track most recently held by David Edwards.
“It's really pretty crazy that this all happened and the timing,” said Hall, who is a Salina, Okla., native. “I received a phone call about the position coming open back in April. We had a few discussions and here I am. They are great people and I'm ready to go to work for them. Likewise, I owe a ton to Todd and Janet Staley for allowing me to grow so much professionally over the past year and a half. I love the USMTS and that will never change. It's no wonder they have been so successful through the years.”
No announcement has been made at this time regarding a replacement for Hall, whose final night calling the action for the USMTS will be at the Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Iowa, on Sunday, May 28.
