Kasson Speedway signs new promoter
KASSON, Minn. -- The Dodge County Fair Board in Kasson, Minn., has signed a new lease of the historical 1/3-mile dirt track with SuprDirt Promotions Ltd. of Lakeville, Minn. Several of the fair board race committee members expressed their excitement and hopes of a long-term partnership with SuprDirt Promotions and President J. Scott Mondus of Lakeville.
Mondus is a veteran retired racer, owner of a current race team and past promoter/owner of the televised SuperSleds Snowmobile Professional Tour.
Mondus expressed his excitement for the deal.
“I am very excited and privileged to have this opportunity to promote this extremely first-class and historic facility, and to partner with a county fair board that is committed to preserving a racing facility unlike most fairgrounds in the country today,” Mondus stated.
The new promoter went on to state that his immediate plan is to not change or upset the past program of racing taking place on Sunday nights. Mondus hopes to add to an already full and exciting program. Modifieds will continue to be the featured class at the speedway and plans are to expand with a new “entrant class” that will allow growth and participation of the local community and the local racing enthusiast.
While the schedule and final classes and sanctioning are still being negotiated, the speedway has secured the website address of www.kassonspeedway.com, which should be up and running for input by Nov. 15. Until then SuprDirt Promotions can be contacted at 651-226-3706.
