VanderBeek seeks to clear up “unfinished business” in 2007
NEW SHARON, Iowa -- Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon, Iowa, driver of the No. 33z Modified, has announced his schedule for the upcoming 2007 race season. The 22-year-old's plans include racing the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series national events slate, where he placed second in final points last year behind eight-time champion Kelly Shryock.
In addition to the rugged O’Reilly USTMS grind, “The Z-Man” will also be tackling local tracks with both his Modified and Stock Car, competing in the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Mountain Dew Bloomfield (Iowa) Speedway and Pepsi Scotland County Speedway in Memphs, Mo. He will also be racing Modified and Stock Car specials as time permits.
VanderBeek's first race of the season will be at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., for the O’Reilly USTMS opener on Friday and Saturday, March 9-10. From Nebraska he will travel to Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, then back to Iowa to round out his March schedule.
