McEwan, BORCO team ready for season opener

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Brad McEwan made the long trip home last week with his new car and trailer after three weeks at the BORCO Motorsports shop in Houston, Texas. McEwan is putting the final touches on the new Skyrocket Modified at his shop in Storm Lake, Iowa.

“We are looking forward the start of  the season,” said team owner Bob Hass.

The 2005 O’Reilly USMTS Rookie of the Year will debut his new ride with the O’Reilly USMTS at a two-day show on Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, at the state-of-the-art Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., for the 4th Annual Nebraska Spring Thaw. Friday’s event will pay $2,000 to win while the winner of Saturday’s main event will pocket $3,000. More than 70 entries are once again expected for the long-awaited lidlifter.

From there, the McEwan will travel to the West Siloam Speedway near Siloam Springs, Okla., for a March 16-17 doubleheader boasting another back-to-back $2,000- and $3,000-to-win contests.

Sponsors on the 2007 BORCO Motorsports Modified include BORCO LP, Storm Lake Honda & Arctic Cat, McEwan Trucking, Cookies BBQ Sauce and Fast Shafts.
