(May 9, 1999) - The racing in July gets underway towards the end of July at the new Crawford County Speedway in Denison, IA. Ken Schrader will be on hand for this race. The race is scheduled July 21st on Wednesday. This will be the first race for the USMTS at this new speedway. The modifieds will also be running with the National Kidney Foundation Modifieds so USMTS will be taking part of the entry fee and donating it to the National Kidney Foundation. All drivers are urged to attend this race.
The next night the USMTS was scheduled to be at the Algona Raceway, but Joe Ringsdorf decided not to rent out the track to USMTS and the series will be in either Webster City, IA or at the Greenbelt Speedway in Eldora, IA. Al Uhrhammer promotes both of these speedways and said he will have the race at one of these tracks.
The USMTS is suppose to rent the track in West Union, IA on Friday and Saturday and will know more on this by June 1. The track owner is currently trying to lease the track out and has not said if the new people will let USMTS rent the track.
The next week July 28 once again Joe Ringsdorf was to rent the track in Fairmont out to USMTS and has said he will not do so. We are trying to get this race moved to Britt, IA.
Thursday, July 29th will be the USMTS first ever visit to the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN. Todd Staley and Lon Oelke will be renting the track in Jackson for this race.
The USMTS will be headed for North Dakota in August as J&T Racing will be promoting this four race series in Jamestown, Bismark, Dickinson and Williston. These races are scheduled for Aug 2-6. Super Mod Week starts Aug. 13-21.
