DENISON, IA (June 20, 2000) — Mike Chasteen of Peoria, IL picked up his second win of the year on this Tuesday night of racing action.

In a race that looked like it was going to be an easy win for Mark Noble Blooming Prairie, MN, as the lady luck bug struck again. Noble jumped out into the early lead of the race and was pulling away from the field as the hood of his car flew up and was hanging on by one pin Noble stayed out racing and feel back to fourth place.

After three laps of racing the yellow flag was thrown for the Noble car and officials took the hood off and Noble restarted the race from the rear of the field. The first start of the race saw Danny McKeighan Council Bluffs, IA jump out into the lead from the outside front row, but a first lap caution between Corey Dripps and Tim Donlinger brought out the yellow and those two drivers restarted the race from the tail. The very next start Noble jumped out into the lead out of turn two, but the throttle of the McKeighan car stuck open and he brought out the next yellow.

On the next start Mike Chasteen started from the AFCO pole and Noble beside him raced into turn one with the edge to Noble, but on the seventh lap of the race the yellow was in the air again for the Noble car. The race was restarted with Chasteen in the lead and Kelly Shryock Story City, IA and Ron Jones Zimmerman, MN chasing Chasteen. That is the way the race would finish. Forty cars checked in for the racing action. Tim Donlinger Rochester, MN was the man on the move as he was involved in the first yellow and restarted the race from the tail and finished the race eighth.

After the racing action Kelly Shryock will still have the USMTS point lead with Mark Noble in second. Heat race winners were Joe Kramer, Corey Dripps, Mark Noble, and Kelly Shryock. The B-main winners were John Krajicek and John Anderson. The next race will be Wednesday June 21st at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, IA.
