SPRING VALLEY, Minn. — The racing surface has received a precision manicure, the concessions stands are over-stocked and the grass mowed from property line to property line. The skies are blue, the lights are green and all systems are go as the ultimate showcase of talent and speed prepares to echo throughout the rural hills of Spring Valley, Minn.

The venue is the Deer Creek Speedway and the event is the 9th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree — the undisputed marquee event for America’s most talented open-wheel modified drivers on dirt. A power-packed field of 133 drivers are pre-entered, and officials expect the eventual total to eclipse to existing record of 137 set in 2003.

Featuring the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series, the star-studded field of mud-slinging superstars consists of drivers come from 13 different States — Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin — as well as the provinces of Ontario and Saskatchewan, Canada.

Along with the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds, the four-day event will also feature the highly WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. Combined, the two classes will compete for a total purse of nearly $200,000 and provide fans with the biggest all-modifieds-all-the-time event on the planet. Three complete shows are on tap for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval.

Early bird race fans can get a free preview of the action tonight (Wednesday, Sept. 5) as drivers will get their chance to make final adjustments to their machines with an open practice night for all drivers in all classes. Pits and grandstands open at 4 p.m., with open-track practice from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission to the grandstands is free. Pit passes are just $15.

The real deal happens on Thursday, Sept. 6, as a field of 26 cars will start the O’Reilly USMTS main event, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays a minimum of $200 to start  — a hefty top prize, indeed, but that’s only opening day at The Jamboree! WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds will also be on the card as they race for $300 to win and $40 to start.

Friday’s menu will kick off with the annual Jamboree Golf Tournament, followed by a second night of screaming on-track action. The O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds will again have a 26-car feature field, with the winner’s share of the purse doubled to $4,000 with a minimum of $250 going to each driver making the main event. WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds will also be on the card as they race for $400 to win and $45 to start. Fans, drivers, crews and families will put a lid on Friday’s festivities with the annual Karaoke Night … open to everybody.

On both Friday and Saturday, brunch will be served by the Bear Creek Church Men’s Club in the hospitality area from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All meals will be served as a free will donation, with all proceeds benefiting the Bear Creek Men’s Club. Open to all … you don’t want to miss this great home-cooked opportunity! Also on Friday, Haulmark Motorcoaches will provide a complimentary pork sandwich brunch for all drivers from 2-4 p.m.

Saturday’s super-sensational enormous explosive finale will feature the hottest Modified pilots in the nation battling for a spot in the 9th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree main event for the O’Reilly USMTS Modifieds. A field of 30 cars will start the main event three-wide and 10 rows deep as drivers battle for a $6,000 top prize. All drivers that make the big dance will earn at least $600. And if that wasn’t enough, non-qualifiers will have a chance at one of the 24 spots in the Non-Qualifier "A" Main, which carries a $2,000 top prize and pays $200 to start  — that’s more than most Modified races pay to win their “big one.” In addition, WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds will duel for $500 to win and $50 to start their main event.

Last, but certainly not least … this year’s Featherlite Fall Jamboree will be the final National Event for O’Reilly USMTS and will award points in The Hunt for the O’Reilly USMTS National Championship. Not only will we produce a ninth Featherlite Fall Jamboree winner, but we will also crown the ninth O’Reilly USMTS national champion after Saturday night’s finale.
