HUMBOLDT, Kan. (April 13, 2001) - Tim Donlinger Rochester, MN picked up the first win of the season on this great spring day in Kansas. Donlinger passed race leader Jason Hughes Colcord, OK on lap 38 to take the win in the Simpson Race Products USMTS Main Event. The race was marred with six cautions all before the first twenty laps were in the books. The race ran the last twenty-one laps caution free. Rodney Sigg Iola, KS jumped out into the early lead from the pole position. Sigg led the first eighteen laps before Jason Hughes worked his way around on the high side. The racing action was intense as this small quarter-mile speedway had some very exciting racing going on. Donlinger worked his way around Sigg on lap 25 and had his sights set on Hughes. Hughes car started to push at the end of the race and Donlinger went by on the backstretch with two to go. Hughes ended up sliding off the backstretch, but came back on the track still running second. The race finished with Steve Holzkamper Siloam Springs, AR having his best ever USMTS finish at third. Sigg had a very ill handling car after the last caution and ended up with a thirteenth place finish. The Harris Auto Racing heat races were won by Craig Chaffin, Jess Folk Jr, Donlinger, Hughes, and Sigg. The Midwest Motorsports B-mains were won by Mark Noble and Kelly Shryock. Forty-two cars checked in for the racing action and a full house witnessed this exciting racing that will be back to the Humboldt Speedway in June. The Olympic Fire Protection Hard Charger was Johnny Bone Jr who started in the eighth row and worked his way up to fourth. Kelly Shryock rounded out the top five in the Simpson A-main. With all contingencies, Donlinger pocketed more than $2,500. Next race will be April 14 at the Bethany Fairgrounds in Bethany, MO. After this race the series will move back to the Mid-America Motor Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK next weekend April 20-21 for a $3000 to win two-day show. RESULTS Heat 1 - Craig Chaffin, Steve Holzkamper, Mark Noble, Johnny Bone, Nathan Mayes Heat 2 - Jess Folk, Scott Daniels, Kelly Shryock, Shawn Brassfield, Steve Becker Heat 3 - Tim Donlinger, Dena Wilson, Jason Hughes, Dennis Slader, Randy Zimmerman Heat 4 - Jason Hughes, Greg Skaggs, George Martin, Brian McGowen, Tommy Myer Heat 5 - Rodney Sigg, John Allen, Dan Daniels, Kevin Peters, Kevin Morrow B-main 1 - Mark Noble, Dan Daniels, Randy Zimmerman, Kevin Peters, Levi McGowen B-main 2 - Kelly Shryock, Johnny Bone, Shawn Brassfield, Brian McGowen, Tom Folk A-main - Tim Donlinger Rochester, MN, Jason Hughes Colcord, OK, Steve Holzkamper Siloam Springs, AR, Johnny Bone Pea Ridge, AR, Kelly Shryock Lemars, IA, Kevin Peters Monmouth, IL, Tim Folkerts Albia, IA, Tommy Myer Blooming Prairie, MN, Dan Daniels Humboldt, KS, Jess Folk Iola, KS, Mark Noble Blooming Prairie, MN, Dena Wilson Coweta, KS, Rodney Sigg Iola, KS, Levi McGowen Chanute, KS, Shawn Brassfield Ada, OK, Brian McGowen Erie, KS, Skeet Amason New Boston, TX, Scott Daniels Humboldt, KS, Brad McEwan Storm Lake, IA, Randy Zimmerman Fort Scott, KS, Jason Hughes West Plains, MO, Greg Skaggs Glen Pool, OK, Tom Folk Iola, KS, Craig Chaffin Sand Springs, OK, George Martin Fort Smith, AR, John Allen Chanute, KS.
