Three-day swing up next for USMTS North Region

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2001) - The next race for the USMTS north region will be the Sound Room Topless 75 at the Butler County Speedway in Allison, IA. This race is a special race that has been put together by the USMTS and will pay $2,500 to the winner. At lap 40 the yellow flag will be thrown for a mandatory pit stop. At that time drivers will have four minutes to work on their car. The race will resume for the last 35 laps. This race will also be a topless race taking the roof off the cars so fans can see a different look at drivers with no roof on their car. We have seen these races in Arkansas with Late Models and wanted to try something different in this area so this is what the USMTS came up with.

The next two nights the series will move to the Steele County Fair in Owatonna, MN. These two shows will be a complete show each night paying $2,000 to win each night. A very strong field of modifieds is expected each night for these races.

Some of the expected drivers for these races are MN drivers: Mark Noble, Tim Donlinger, Tommy Myer, Jay Ihrke, Todd Klees, Brad Waits, Nate Wasmund, Willy Kraft, Mike Sorensen Iowa drivers Kelly Shryock, Tim Folkerts, Al Hejna, Pat Graham, Rich Lewerke, Corey Dripps, Rick Gustin, Brad McEwan. Some of the drivers from other states are Mike Chasteen, Justin Boney, Adam Larson, Randy Zimmerman, Kevin Peters, Brian Mullen, Mike Wedelstadt, Ron Schreiner, Jason Hughes, and Kevin Peters.

Hobby stocks will be running at the Butler County Speedway in Allison, IA.
