O’Reilly Auto Parts returns as USMTS title sponsor

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — O’Reilly Auto Parts will return as title sponsor of the O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series in 2007, marking the fourth straight year of the partnership between America's leading auto parts retailer throughout the Midwest and Southeast with America's Hottest Ticket on Dirt.

In addition to sponsoring the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour, O’Reilly Auto Parts will also be the title sponsor of the O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series in 2008.

"As the title sponsor of the USMTS, O’Reilly Auto Parts has proven to our fans and competitors that they are unmatched in grassroots motorsports support," said USMTS president Todd Staley. "The support of O’Reilly Auto Parts has been instrumental in the growth and popularity of the O’Reilly USMTS brand. We, along with our drivers, team members and fans, are truly blessed to have their backing."

Since 1957, O’Reilly Auto Parts has stood for quality parts and outstanding customer service. It all began with one store in Springfield, Mo., and the lessons learned there are still applied today in more than 1,800 stores in 26 states.

O’Reilly Auto Parts is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment, and accessories in the United States, serving both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets.

The 2008 season will mark the 10th anniversary of the United States Modified Touring Series and delivering America’s Hottest Ticket on Dirt. Since 2005, the USMTS has experienced incredible growth. While weekly racing around the country has seen a decline in both competitors and fans due to fuel costs and other factors, the USMTS has seen an increase of more than 15% by local competitors and an increase of more than 20% in regionally- and nationally-licensed USMTS drivers. Fan attendance per event has increased by nearly 20%, while aggregate fan attendance is up nearly 30%.

"In a nutshell, the financial commitment from our marketing partners and sponsors has enabled us to execute growth policies for the USMTS, thereby building a better product for USMTS drivers and fans while also adding value to the investment by our sponsors," said Jeff Nun, Director of Communications & Marketing for the USMTS.

With 80 events staged at 47 venues in 12 states during the 2007 racing season, the USMTS continues to hold the distinction of being the premier dirt modified series in America. Nearly 800 different drivers raced with the USMTS in 2007. Between the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour and O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series, more than 90 dates are on the calendar for 2008!
