Fall Jamboree set for Oct. 2-6 at Hamilton County Speedway
WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (Sept. 10, 2001) - The stage is set for the 3rd Annual Fall Jamboree at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City. A lot of changes have been made for this Jamboree as Late Models have been added to the program. A practice for all interested drivers will take place on Monday October 1st at 6:30 pm. On Tuesday the racing action will get started with the local Econo class, the Hobby Stock class, and the IMCA type modifieds running. Racing will start at 6:30 pm each night except Saturday when the racing will start at 6:00 pm. The Classes that run on Tuesday will run heat races, B-mains and A-mains. On Wednesday the same classes will run the same races. Also running on Wednesday night will be the USMTS Manufacturers Challenge race. This race will stage some fifteen different car builders in a challenge race paying the winner $1000. On Thursday the Hobby Stocks and the IMCA type modifieds will run last chance races. Also running on Thursday night will be the first night of Stock Cars and Open Modifieds. On Friday night the stock cars and modifieds will run again and the late models will also be on the card. On Saturday all the main events will be on the schedule. The Econo class will run for a $500 to win main event. Next up on Saturday will be the Hobby Stock class, the main event for this class will pay the winner $1200. The IMCA type modified class will pay $2000 to the winner with the stock car class paying $2200 to the winner. The final two classes of the night will be the Late Models in which the winner will receive $4000. The final race of the evening will be the Open Modifieds racing for $7000 to win with $1200 going to the last place car in this main event. After all the racing is complete on Saturday night the total payout will be well over $150,000. The top ten rows in both open bleachers and the covered grandstands are reserved seating. A reserved seat is $5. This seat will belong to you all week for that $5. This will guarantee any person that comes to the races a seat. All seats after the top ten rows are general admission seating. These seats are first come first serve. Tickets for all week are also on sale for the 3rd Annual Fall Jamboree. Any person planning on attending racing all week will receive $5 off the ticket price. On Tuesday night adults price will be $5 with kids 6-12 $2. On Wednesday the adult price is $8 and $3 for kids. Thursday and Friday will be $10 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12. Saturday night will be $15 for all adults and $5 for kids 6-12. These tickets can also be purchased at the USMTS office. A free hog roast and free refreshments will be served after the races on Friday night. In 1999 some 168 cars filled the two pit areas at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. In 2000 more than 280 cars in four classes filled the pits and more than 400 cars are expected for the 3rd Jamboree. More than 15000 people have visited Webster City during the first two Jamborees during the week. We are expecting a great field of cars for 2001 and the fan base should be just as good this year with the addition of late models.
