JKJ Motorsports signs Bar’s Leaks, plans O'Reilly USMTS Southern Series campaign
HOUSTON, Texas – Bar’s Leaks recently announced the signing of a three-year marketing partnership with the JKJ Motorsports dirt Modified team. Jonathan Johnson, owner of JKJ Motorsports, is no stranger to racing or the Bar’s Leaks brand. Having driven for Etterman Racing’s NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car team in 2006, which was sponsored by Bar’s Products, Johnson will return to display the recognizable Bar’s Leaks oval and highlight their rear main seal repair product line.
Bar’s Leaks joins associate sponsors Market Basket Food Stores, Johnson Auto Centers, A-1 Rentals, Wheeler Truck Body, Beaumont Iron & Metal, Dale’s Pools, Glen’s Paint & Body, NGK Spark Plugs, AFCO Racing, Simpson Racing Products, PPM Performance Products and Rislone Engine Treatment to makeup the new scheme of the JKJ Motorsports Modified that Johnson will campaing in 2008 with the O'Reilly USMTS Southern Series.
“It is such an honor to represent Bar’s Products again,” stated Johnson. “After working with them at Etterman Racing, the opportunity to partner with Bar’s Leaks and Rislone is definitely inspirational to say the least. Obviously, the dirt modified scene is growing by leaps and bounds and for us to be able to represent them is truly exciting. With the Houston market being one of the largest in the nation, we are going to do our best to help the brand awareness of Bar’s Leaks, Rislone and the many products they offer.”
Modifieds have grown into one of the strongest classes in dirt racing across the nation. With series such as the USMTS, the “outlaw” Modified is extremely popular due to their high horsepower and small tire combinations.
“With a new Larry Shaw chassis, two new engines and a trailer full of spare parts, JKJ Motorsports should have the pieces in place to have a fantastic year,” exclaimed Johnson. “We are have completed a few test sessions and weekly races, and feel we are prepared for our opening USMTS Southern Series race on April 18 at the new Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas.”
Clay Parks, vice president of marketing and development at Bar’s Leaks, also expressed his enthusiasm to be reunited with Johnson.
“We're highlighting our Bar’s Leaks brand with the JKJ Motorsports modified team,” commented Parks. “It's an excellent fit for us and we're glad to be back together with Jonathan. We are very supportive and confident that we will get this Bar’s Leaks Modified in the winner’s circle throughout the racing season.”
