O’Reilly USMTS National Tour returns to West Siloam Speedway this weekend
WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — America’s Hottest Ticket on Dirt returns to the West Siloam Speedway this weekend as the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour continues its march to the greatest dirt track facilities throughout the heartland. Slated for Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, a possible $5,000 to win is up for grabs among the Best of the Best in dirt Modified racing.
The doubleheader at Rick and Julie Magnuson’s high-banked 3/8-mile oval will be just the seventh of more than 60 races this season for the O’Reilly USMTS National Tour, but already the points battles are nail-biting close as drivers fight for a spot in the Casey’s General Stores Hunt for the USMTS National Championship season-ending title chase.
Friday’s main event carries a top prize of $2,000 while the winner of Saturday’s Holley “A” main will pocket $3,000.
Eight-time USMTS National Champion Kelly Shryock of Fertile, Iowa, cashed in on opening night at the inaugural event last year, while fellow Iowan Jay Noteboom picked up the winner's paycheck on Saturday.
Both drivers are entered for the West Siloam shootout to defend their titles. Other drivers on the roster include John Allen, two-time winner this season Jason Hughes, Johnny Bone Jr., Jon Tesch, Justin Boney, Greg Skaggs, Zack VanderBeek, Dustin Boney, Gary Langworthy Jr., Brandon Kenny, Al Hejna, Jason Krohn, Don Crnkovich, Mike Wedelstadt, Jeremy Rasmussen, Bryan Rowland, Brian Williams, Terry Beckham Jr., Tommy Weder Jr., Jesse Stovall, Rodney Sanders, Joe Duvall, Joe Wright, Mark Dotson, Tammy Mitchell, Gary Clark, Pat Graham, Steve Holzkamper, Scott Green, Mike Sorensen, Julie McDermid, Jeremy Ross, Ryan Whitworth, Trevor Latham, Steve Stewart, Jeremy Chambers, Blake Sedgwick, Brian McGowen, Cody Elnicki and many more.
On Friday, pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstands open at 3. Hot laps are slated for 6:30 with races at 7:30. On Saturday, gates open at 2 and 3 p.m. again, with hot laps beginning at 5 and the first green flag scheduled to wave at 6 p.m..
Joining the card both nights will be West Siloam Speedway's Pure Stock, Factory Stock, 360 Modified and Limited Late Model divisions. In 2007, more than 50 of the nation's best Modified drivers were on hand each night, along with over 80 cars and drivers in support classes!
