USMTS will make annual stop at the Quincy Raceway in Quincy, IL August 2nd
QUINCY, Ill. (July 22, 2002) - The United States Modified Touring Series will make its annual appearance at the Quincy Raceway Friday August 2nd for some great modified racing action. The USMTS which last season raced twice at the Quincy Raceway could only get one date in 2002 and will make this one of the best races of the season for the modifieds. This race will pay $2000 to win and $200 to start. Also running will be the Bombers and the B-mods as well as the cruisers. In 2001 Hank Delonjay picked up the first win of the season and Mike Spaulding won the second USMTS race in Quincy. The first race saw three Quincy regulars finish 1-2-3. This race should be no different as all Quincy regulars always make it tough for the traveling modified drivers. Some of the expected travelers to be on hand will be National Point leader Kelly Shryock, Tommy Myer, Mike Chasteen, Kevin Peters, Tim Donlinger, Joey Kates, Skeet Amason, Eddie Martin, Justin Boney, Bruce Hanford, Jimmy Owens, Mike Marlar, Andy Tennison, Mike Spaulding, Rick Hixson, Luke Cochran, Rick Gustin, and Corey Dripps. Gates will open at 4pm with hot laps scheduled for 7pm and racing to follow. For more info call the USMTS office at 515-832-7944
