ELKO, Minn. (August 16, 2002) - The USMTS Modified Series event originally scheduled for Friday night August 16 at Elko Speedway was postponed due to persistent rain showers.

Track officials have rescheduled the event for Thursday night August 29 kicking off a three-day Labor Day Weekend of Racing at Elko Speedway. That night will find the USMTS drivers along with the TQS Stock Cars and the Two-Man Cruisers on the card. As a special bonus for fans the first ever I-35 Traffic Jam race will be held.

The Thursday night rain date will kick-off the long holiday weekend right as draft beer will be just one dollar. Friday night (8/30) action will showcase the School Bus Figure 8 Race as part of the Eve of Destruction, and NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge racing will headline Saturday night's festivities this Labor Day Weekend.

Racing action resumes tomorrow night as Lube-Tech presents a full night of NASCAR Racing with the Budweiser Late Models, Miller Lite Sportsman, Super Trucks, Coca-Cola Thunder Cars and Impact Printing Bombers. Gates open at 5:30, qualifying is at 6 with racing beginning at 7.
