Schrader, Wallace "in" for upcoming USMTS shows
NASCAR veterans Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace are "in" and will be competing in eight events over the next three weeks with the O'Reilly USMTS National Tour.
Wallace will be at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, Iowa, on Tuesday, July 22, the Murray County Speedway in Slayton, Minn., on Wednesday, July 23, and at the Kasson (Minn.) Speedway on Thursday, July 24.
Wallace will be joined by Schrader when the rugged USMTS road warriors visit the Cresco (Iowa) Speedway on Tuesday, July 29, and again at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Wednesday, July 30. At both events, Jimmy Spencer will also be a part of the program as "Mr. Excitement" will serve as Grand Marshall and Master of Ceremonies both nights.
On Monday, Aug. 4, Schrader and Wallace will battle the Best of the Best at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan., then again on Tuesday, Aug. 5, at the 81 Speedway in Valley Center (Wichita), Kan., for their first-ever visit to the track and the first-ever event pitting USMTS vs. NCRA Modifieds in the same show.
Then on Wednesday, Aug. 6, another inaugural event for the USMTS takes place at the super-fast Heartland Park Topeka dirt track in Topeka, Kan., with both Schrader and Wallace steering their own high-powered Modifieds around the clay oval.
Citing other commitments, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and Emporia, Kan., native Clint Bowyer is "out" and will not be in the field for the events at Humboldt, Wichita or Topeka as was originally planned earlier this year.
Wallace will again highlight the show when the O'Reilly USMTS National Tour invades the legendary Belleville (Kan.) High Banks on Monday, Aug. 11, and again on Tuesday, Aug. 12, when the series makes an encore appearance at the U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo.
