Field set for “Night of Victory” Shoot-Out Kevin Harvick gets set to take his first practice laps in Steve Arpin's Modified.

Field set for “Night of Victory” Shoot-Out

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. – The starting line-up for the long-awaited “Night of Victory” Shoot-Out is set, with 20 drivers set for a 20-lap invitational to kick off the 10th Annual Featherlite Fall Jamboree at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kevin Harvick will headline the event, which will feature nationally-recognized celebrities, local racers and USMTS drivers in a charity event to help raise money for the Victory Junction Gang Camp.

Located in Randleman, N.C., the Victory Junction Gang Camp enriches the lives of children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically sound environment.

Along with Harvick, NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Landon Cassill will also compete with some of the best in Modified racing, along with top American Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr., who will be making his modified dirt track debut at the event.

Harvick will be piloting one of Steve Arpin's Modifieds and Cassill will steer one of Les Duellman's Dirt Duelers. Gittin, unfortunately, drifted ... errrr ... wrecked his car during practice and will not be able to compete.

Joining the crew in the announcers booth for the event will be former NASCAR crew chief and current FOX Sports analyst Larry McReynolds.

In addition to the aforementioned names, an additional 17 drivers will complete the field of 20 that will take the green flag in Wednesday's “Night of Victory” Shoot-Out.

Drivers were selected at random from several categories of eligibility:

O'Reilly USMTS National Tour – Scott Green, Al Hejna and Brandon Kenny were selected from a pool of drivers with perfect attendance in the Casey's General Stores Hunt for the O'Reilly USMTS National Championship.

O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series – Dereck Ramirez and Bryan Rowland were selected from a pool of drivers with perfect attendance in the O’Reilly USMTS Southern Series.

Deer Creek Speedway – Jason Cummins, Jay Ihrke, Mike Sorensen, Nate Wasmund and Terry Timmerman were selected from a pool of weekly USRA Modified drivers at the Deer Creek Speedway.

• Past Champions – Steve Arpin was selected from a pool of past Featherlite Fall Jamboree main event winner. Arpin won the opening night race at The Jamboree in 2006, which was actually staged on Sunday after the Thursday night program was rained out.

Sponsor Provisionals – Randy Timms was selected by Featherlite. Brady and Shawn Peterson were selected by 61 Marine & Sports.

Practice Participants – Kelly Shryock, Bob Timm and Steve Kosiski were selected at random from those participating in Wednesday's practice.

Around 7:30 p.m., the drivers will congregate on the front stretch to draw for starting spots.

Earlier today, more than 600 fans took part in the "Night of Victory" V.I.P. Celebtration, which consisted of a meet and greet with Harvick, Cassill, McReynolds and Gittin, autographs, a delicous meal catered by the Minnesota Pork Council and the opportunity to bid on great NASCAR memorabilia, plus access to the grandstands, pits and V.I.P. area.
