10th Annual GRT Race Cars Topless Modified Nationals postponed to 2009

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After a spectacular night of racing on Friday at the I-30 Speedway, Mother Nature must have decided she (and the rest of us) had enjoyed enough fun for one weekend.

Heavy rainfall in the morning and early afternoon on Saturday forced track and USMTS officials to pull the plug on Saturday night's finale of the 10th Annual GRT Race Cars Topless Modified Nationals.

The O'Reilly USMTS Southern Series event has been postponed to Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, 2009 with an additional $2,000-to-win show added on Friday and the heldover $5,000-to-win contest on Saturday. Only new drivers that did not compete in Friday's show will be required to pay an entry fee.

Next up for the O'Reilly USMTS Southern Series will be a tripleheader at the Texana Raceway Park in Edna, Texas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-22. The inaugural event will carry $1,000 top prize on Thursday, with $2,000 to win on Friday and $3,000 to the winner of Saturday night's main event.

Texana Raceway Park is a 5/16-mile high-banked clay oval located 2 miles east of Edna on SR 111, then left on Haines Rd. (FM 412). For more information, call the track office at (979) 758-4440 or the track hotline on raceday  at (361) 781-0411 or visit them on the World Wide Web at www.texanaracewaypark.org.
