MANY, La. -- The first ever visit to Louisiana should be a good way to kick off the USMTS south region next weekend. Several drivers have called the USMTS office and we are looking very forward to kicking off the racing season in Louisiana. We have talked with several people this last month and they have told us this will be a very good track to kick off the season as it has some of the best racing around the Louisiana area on a weekly basis. We are expecting some of America’s top modified drivers to be on hand with the three complete show format the USMTS uses at all shows.

Each night will feature a complete show that will pay money. Thursday night the main event winner will pocket the $2000 paycheck. Friday night will see the winner of the main event pocket $2000 again with the final main event of the weekend the winner will take home $3000. If a driver can win all three nights there will be a $5000 bonus. Some of the expected drivers that will be on hand next weekend include: Five-time USMTS national champion Kelly Shryock, Tommy Myer, Jason Hughes, Johnny Bone, Dean Mahlstedt, Jason Krohn, Brian Foote, Billy Melton, Levi McGowen, Klint Pursley, David Grigg, Howard Willis to name a few that have talked with us.

Racing will get underway on Thursday night with hot laps at 6:30 pm and racing to follow. SIMS/ULMA Limited Mods will also be running each night. On Friday night the Pure Stock class will also be running with the SIMS Street Stocks and Mini Stocks also on the schedule for Saturday evening. This will be a must see show and for fans that have not been to the USMTS we will have all fans out of the speedway at a decent time on Thursday evening. This should be some great modified wheel to wheel racing action as every USMTS event brings out the best drivers in the USA. This will be the only visit until November to the Louisiana area for the USMTS so fans and drivers you won’t want to miss this show.
