USMTS next stop at Junction Motor Speedway, MArch 12-13

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa -- The United States Modified Touring Series will make its first ever appearance to the Junction Motor Speedway for the USMTS Nebraska Frostbuster scheduled for March 12-13.

This is a brand new facility built last season by the Friesen family right south of York, NE and this is an awesome facility that everyone needs to visit.

This will be one of the first races here in the Midwest and we are expecting a lot of cars to make the trip to Nebraska.

This race will be in the USMTS south region so drivers can race all Nebraska races for points.

Racing will get underway with hot laps at 6:45 on Friday night with racing to follow.

A complete show will be run each night for all classes.

Friday night will see the USMTS Modifieds, an open Stock Car class, as well as the cruisers.

These three classes will run both Friday and Saturday with complete shows for each.

The USMTS main event will pay $2000 to win on Friday and $3000 on Saturday.

Some of the expected drivers for this event include: Kelly Shryock, Tommy Myer, Jason Hughes, Mark Noble, Dean Mahlstedt, J.P. Karpowicz, Al Hejna, Bruce Hanford, Steve Kosiski, Dave Trauchernicht, Johnny Saathoff, Johnny Bone, Kevin Larkins, Brian Foote, Jeff Stephens, Jason Friesen, David Grigg, plus many more.

Racing will get underway early on Saturday with hot laps set for 4pm and racing to follow. The track is located south of York, NE on US 81.

After the first two USMTS races of the season Billy Melton from Longview, TX holds a one point lead over Kelly Shryock.

The USMTS series had its first race of the season last weekend at the Many Motor Speedway in Many, LA and Bryan Millican and Kelly Shryock each picked up wins during the weekend of racing.

This will be some of the best modified racing that fans will be treated to all season so mark your calendars for this race next weekend.

For more information on this race or any of the USMTS races feel free to call the USMTS office at 515-832-7944 or check us out on the web at www.usmts.com. We hope to see everyone next Friday and Saturday evening at the Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE.

USMTS did talk to Jason Friesen today and he said the track was looking pretty good and everything is a go so make your plans to attend the first race in the Midwest March 12-13.

Anyone needing motels for this race call the Holiday Inn at 800-934-5495 and ask for the racers rate.
