The 5th Annual Grant Junghans Memorial is set for Friday, October 30, at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, and fans can call today and throughout the week to reserve tickets for the blockbuster event.

The USRA and USMTS offices will be taking phone orders at (515) 832-6000 and (515) 832-7944. Tickets purchased by Friday will be mailed.

For every adult ticket sold, $5 go to the Grant Junghans Memorial Fund which supports research and funding for childhood cancer. After Friday, pre-ordered tickets will be available at the Will Call window on race day at the track.

The 2009 USMTS Rookie of the Year, Grant Junghans was first diagnosed with cancer in February of 2010. Despite on-again off-again chemotherapy treatments and numerous surgeries, he never lost his sense of humor, fighting spirit or natural-born tendency to be decent to others.

The racing world lost one of its finest ambassadors when he passed away in March 2016, and the Grant Junghans Memorial is an opportunity for his family, friends, fans and fellow competitors to remember the good times and racing memories shared in his 27 years with us.

Jacob Bleess is the defending champion of the Grant Junghans Memorial, which was held last year at the 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. Other winners include Jake O'Neil (2018), Rodney Sanders (2017) and Lucas Schott (2016) who captured their wins at the Lakeside Speedway.

While the race will pay at least a record $10,102 to win the USRA Modified main event, the payoff for every feature race starters is no less than $1,202 thanks to incredible sponsors such as Shop Quik Convenience Stores, 4 Bar Transport, A&A Electric & Underground, ARMI Contractors, Big Time Bail Bonds, Hacienda Mechanical, Lance Town Family, MB Customs Race Cars, Midwest Sheet Metal, RacinDirt.TV, Ramirez Motorsports, Real Racing Wheels, Rick Beebe Heating & Air Conditioning, Shell Oil and VanderBuilt Race Cars/33z Racing.

USRA B-Mods will also be racing for $1,002 to win and $102 to start. More money will be added as more sponsorships are received.

The pits open at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 5, hot laps begin at 7 and racing gets underway at 7:30.
