JEFFERSON, S.D. -- The United States Modified Touring Series coming off its sixth straight rain-out after being scheduled to compete in Wisconsin this past weekend before Mother Nature put a stop to that with the more than eight inches of rain that fell in the Wisconsin area over the past five days.

USMTS was also rained out three straight nights in Oklahoma and Missouri the last weekend of April making it six straight rain-outs.

The last USMTS race held in April at the Memphis, MO racetrack saw Johnny Bone pick up his first win of the season passing Tony Fraise coming out of turn four for the checkered flag.

The United States Modified Touring Series has had fifteen races so far this season and Kelly Shryock has been on a roll picking up six wins and leading the USMTS national points at the early part of the season.

The United States Modified Touring Series will make its only appearance of the season to the Park Jefferson Speedway this Thursday part of a five-day swing in the north region.

Last season the United States Modified Touring Series made a stop at the speedway and Kelly Shryock picked up the win, but the win did not come easy as Chris Spieker and Corey Dripps each took their cars to the front and looked to take the win.

This year the race will be called the Harris All Star Challenge which should see several Harris Auto Racing Chassis modifieds on hand to challenge several of the touring drivers.

Gates will open at 5pm with Hot laps slated for 6:45 and racing to follow.

OK One Stop from Hospers, IA and Harris Auto Racing will be sponsoring the race.
