Twin boys arrive for Mr. & Mrs. David Mitchell

ASHDOWN, Ark. - David Mitchell and his wife welcomed twin boys into the world on Jan. 8.

"They came six weeks early but were in extremely good health and exceptionally big for twins that are six weeks early," Mitchell said. "They were originally supposed to be due on Feb. 25."

Taylor Gracin was born first at 5 pounds and 2 ounces.

Taytem Blaine was 4 pounds even.

Both were transported to a neo-natal intensive care unit 75 miles from home immediately for precautionary measures. Taylor was on room air through his oxygen tube for three days, but Taytem never had to be put on oxygen.

No complications or problems whatsoever.

"Dad and ten-year-old brother Quinn went with the boys to Shreveport that night," Mitchell added. "Mom and Crystal arrived three days later. Dad and Quinn gave them their first bottles but left the right to hold them first to their mom. It was very hard to hold out and wait on that though. Mom and boys alike did extremely well."

All are home with absolutely no complications or problems. The twins have been gaining about a pound a week and are currently at 8 and 9 pounds, respectively.

Taytem is still staying about a pound behind Taylor, therefore is dad's little man.

"The twins hope to be at Little Rock for the Topless."
