Shryock, Karpowicz, Cramer net three wins for Team HTL

LANCASTER, Ky. -- Team HTL pilots Kelly Shryock, J.P. Karpowicz, and Jesse Cramer scored three victories, seven Top Three finishes, and eight Top Ten runs during competition last week. Shryock visited victory lane three times last week in USMTS competition, as he took home the $2,000 first prize check at the Jamestown (ND) Speedway on Monday, the Lebanon (MO) Speedway on Saturday, and the Monett (MO) Speedway last night.

Kelly also piloted his #3 to the a third place effort at the Deer Creek (MN) Speedway on Tuesday and a second place finish at the Scotland County (MO) Speedway on Thursday night. In addition to these strong performances, Kelly also was leading the A-Main at the Bolivar (MO) Speedway on Friday night, when he broke a motor, relegating him to a 17th place finish. Kelly continues to lead the USMTS National, North Region, and South Region point standings.

J.P. Karpowicz was scheduled to join Team HTL teammate Kelly Shryock for the Missouri USMTS races, but with the forecast calling for thunderstorms, the team decided to stay home and race locally. The team has suffered so many rainouts this season that they just wanted to get some races in. The #2 team headed to the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday night and timed in second fastest in qualifying. J.P. then went on to take the win in the Quick Six Dash and a second place finish in the feature event.

J.P. then traveled to Somerset, KY and the Lake Cumberland Speedway on Saturday night. He qualified third, but crashed on the second qualifying lap. The crew was able to make some repairs just in time for the Quick Six Dash, where J.P. started third and finished second. J.P wound up finishing third in the A-Main, giving him two Top Three efforts over the weekend.

"After our crash in qualifying, we were very fortunate to come home with a third place finish in the feature," said J.P. "The car wasn't perfect by any means, but the crew did a great job to get the car raceable."

Jesse Cramer was only able to race his #12t machine once over the weekend after the events at the Bloomington (IN) Speedway on Friday night were washed out during the heat races. The team earned a seventh place finish at the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, IN on Saturday after finishing second in their heat race. As of June 14, Jesse is ranked 17th in the UMP National point standings and fourth in the UMP Indiana State points.

Kelly Shryock will continue on the USMTS National Tour this week with the following events. All races are scheduled to pay $2,000 to win.

6/21 - Southern Iowa Speedway - Oskaloosa, IA

6/22 - Junction Motor Speedway - McCool Junction, NE

6/23 - Speed Bowl - Red Cloud, NE

6/24 - Thayer County Speedway - Deshler, NE

6/25 - Humbodlt Speedway - Humboldt, KS

6/26 - Thunderhill Speedway - Mayetta, KS

6/27 - Caney Valley Speedway - Caney, KS

J.P. will visit the same two tracks that he competed on this past weekend. He will be looking for his first win of the season this Friday night at the Ponderosa (KY) Speedway and this Saturday night at the Lake Cumberland (KY) Speedway.

Jesse will continue his quest for the Bloomington (IN) Speedway track championship this Friday night. He will then travel to the Kamp (IN) Motor Speedway on Saturday night. You can learn more about Jesse at his website, www.jessecramer.com.
