USMTS to visit Eldon Raceway Thursday night
ELDON, Iowa -- The United States Modified Touring Series will return to the Eldon Raceway in Eldon, IA on Thursday night for the USMTS North Region Hawkeye Challenge.
This race will feature Stock Cars paying $400 to win and Hobby Stocks paying $300 to win. The rules for these two classes will be the same as the weekly rules used at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, IA on a weekly basis.
This is the only visit of the season to the big ½ mile speedway and fans will be treated to some great side by side racing action featuring several of the top modified drivers in the country.
Some of the expected drivers include: Tommy Myer and Mark Noble of Blooming Prairie, MN, current USMTS points leader Kelly Shryock of Fertile, IA, last season's Eldon winner Jason Hughes of Colcord, OK, Jon Tesch of Watertown, SD, Bruce Hanford of Davenport, IA, Ray Guss Jr. of Milan, IL, Mark Burgtorf of Quincy, IL, Tony Fraise of Montrose, IA, Corey Dripps of Cedar Falls, IA, Zack Vanderbeek and Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon, IA, Jim Lynch of Bloomfield, IA, Al and Mike Hejna of Clear Lake, IA, Johnny Bone Jr. of Pea Ridge, AR, John Vandenberg of Oskaloosa, IA, plus many more.
Racing action will get underway with hot laps slated for 7pm and racing to follow.
